Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh will be launched on July 29: N Chandrababu Naidu

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh will be launched to plant one crore sapplings under the Vanam Manam programme on July 29. He said the green cover in the state should be increased to 50 per cent from the existing 26 per cent by 2029.

Speaking to the media at the CM's Camp Office in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Mr Naidu said every individual should take part in Mission Harita Andhra Pradesh programme. He said participation of students and institutions was essential

A tree bank would be established and plants would be geo tagged for protection. District incharge ministers, collectors and senior forest officials should be entrusted with the responsibility of plantation programme, he said.

The CM said the services of Vana Samrakshana Samitis and Self Help Groups would be utilised for the development of green cover.
