Road mishap kills four Pathanamthitta natives

The car in which they were heading towards Pathanamthitta from Chennai lost control and rammed into a tree at around 2 am.

PATHANAMTHITTA: As many as seven persons including four Pathanamthitta natives died in an accident at Peramballoor district in Tamil Nadu in the wee hours of Thursday. The victims have been identified as A. Prakash, 37, Pulichumakkal, Kottangal at Mallappally in Pathanamthitta, Prakash’s wife Priya, 34 and his brother, Pradeep, 33, Joshi, 29, of Idathara, Mangaram in Pandalam. Prakash’s friends and natives of Tamil Nadu, Midhun, Sivaprakash, and driver Siva were also among the dead. Priya’s sister Princy, 28, has been admitted to a private hospital with grave injuries on her legs.

The incident took place near Thozhuthoor on the Chennai – Tiruchirappally national highway, some 250 kilometers from Chennai. Prakash was working as a radiologist in a private hospital in Chennai while his wife Priya was a nurse with another hospital there. Pradeep, Prakash’s brother, was working with a printing press and also runs a hotel there. Joshi, an NRI working in Malaysia, joined the family in Chennai. The family along with their friends in Chennai was heading to their hometown to attend a cousin’s marriage to be held in Kottayam. The bodies will be laid to rest on Friday.
