Hyderabad: College in-charge aids cheating, held

The college allowed 104 students indulge in malpractices.

Hyderabad: The in-charge of B.R. Institutions, Chikkadpally, Bathuraju Sudarshan, was arrested by the CCS police on Monday for facilitating as many as 104 undergraduate students cheat and pass by accepting money during the UG supplementary examinations held by the Examination branch.

The arrest was made following a complaint from Prof. Kumar Molugaram, the Controller of Examinations, Osmania University campus, Hyderabad, against the management of R.K. Degree College and others, stating that in the UG supplementary examinations held in September-October 2017, R.K. Degree College allowed 104 students from other colleges indulge in malpractices by receiving money and cheating the O.U Examination branch.

Accordingly, a case was booked against the management under various Sections of IPC and Section 8 of A.P. Public Examination Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair Means Act of 1997 and an investigation was taken up.

“Based on the evidence collected, the WCO Team-III of CCS Hyderabad arrested Bathuraju Sudarshan, in-charge of B. R. Institutions, Chikkadpally on Monday and produced him before the Court, which sentenced him to judicial remand,” said DCP, CCS, Avinash Mohanty.
