Kakinada: The budget of erstwhile East Godavari zilla parishad has been approved with a surplus of ₹70 lakh.
The total outlay of the ZP is ₹1,379 crore, including general funds, grants and allocations for various departments for the financial year 2023–24. The budget shows ₹1,379 crore as revenue and ₹1,378.30 crore as expenditure. This is against ₹1,229 crore revenue and ₹1,228.78 crore expenditure in the 2022–23 budget.
The budget got approved at a meeting of the zilla parishad here on Wednesday. ZP chairman Vipparthi Venugopala Rao presided over the meeting.
Kakinada district collector Kritika Shukla, Konaseema district collector Himanshu Shukla, Kakinada MP Vanga Gita, MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, and MLAs Rapaka Vara Prasada Rao (Razole) and Pendem Dorababu (Pithapuram) were among those who attended the meeting.
