Andhra Pradesh to give Rs 5,000 as incentive to Good Samaritans

Kakinada: Kakinada district collector Kritika Shukla has said the state government would give ₹5,000 as incentive to those who inform the police and provide details of the victim(s) at the time of accidents.

She along with Kakinada Lok Sabha member Vanga Gita flagged off the Road Safety Week celebrations here on Wednesday. She said the state government introduced the Good Samaritan system and the officials should spread such awareness among the masses.

She said 846 road accidents took place in 2022 and 330 persons died in Kakinada district. Though the number of accidents decreased compared to last year, the accident rate should be reduced. Many road accidents take place during night time, she said.

Kakinada district additional SP P Srinivas, deputy transport commissioner A Mohan, DMHO Dr Santhi Prabha and others were present.
