Women, kids to get better medical care: K K Shylaja

During the fist phase, the out patient wing for pregnant women and other patients will start functioning from here.

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: Health minister K.K. Shylaja on Tuesday said that the state government was committed to provide more facilities for women and child health care in government hospitals. She was inaugurating the newly constructed women and child complex at the SAT Hospital here. The minister said the complex will be soon opened to the public and better basic infrastructure facilities would be provided for health care. During the fist phase, the out patient wing for pregnant women and other patients will start functioning from here.

Along with OP, the construction of other storeys will also be taken up for expansion of additional services. Meanwhile, as part of World Diabetes Day the nutrition department of medical college along with medicine department organised a diabetes detection camp. During the camp, 100 persons were examined of which 50 were diabetic and 13 new cases were also detected. Doctors advised them to change their lifestyle and make changes in food habits besides regular exercise to control sugar levels.
