Kottayam: The Idukki police will file a defamation case against a woman who alleged in a Facebook post on Sunday that Thodupuzha SI Jomin Antony had assaulted her husband and invited her to his official quarters by offering her money. Jolly Reji of Kolany in Idukki district alleged that the SI had assaulted her husband, Reji, and misbehaved with her when she went to the police station with a complaint against a mobile shop owner of the town.
Her husband, who is suffering from neurological ailments, was admitted to a hospital at Kolenchery later. Idukki district police chief A.V. George told DC that the allegations were baseless. “In my investigation it was found that it was she who rang up the officer late in the night and she should explain why she made a call at that time,” Mr George told DC. Mr Jomin Antony challenged her to prove the charge that he had misbehaved with her.
