Traffic, transport issues fail to impact Eamcet in Telangana

Eamcet convener N.V. Ramana Rao said the exam was held without any major hitch.

Hyderabad/Vijayawada: TS Eamcet-2016 test on Sunday passed off smoothly without major problems. However, students and parents especially in districts faced transportation problems to reach far-off government exam centres.

The candidates’ turn-out for the engineering test, held from 10am to 1pm, was 92 percent, while for the afternoon paper (from 2.30 to 5.30pm) it was 88 percent. A big number of medical aspirants still appeared for the afternoon exam, knowing well that they have to write another test (NEET in July) to realise their career ambitions in medicine.

Eamcet convener N.V. Ramana Rao said the exam was held without any major hitch. “Cases of four to five latecomers not being allowed inside were reported from a few centres, but we found out that they were not serious candidates. There was some traffic congestion on the road leading to BITS Pilani, Shamirpet centre. Police intervened in the nick of time and cleared it. All candidates reached the centre 30 minutes in advance,” he said.
