Paravur fireworks tragedy: Medical College Hospital thanks Delhi doctors

The team of doctors coordinated with the MCH staff to perform surgeries on people who were very critical.

Thiruvananthapuram: The City Medical College has lauded the efforts of the 27-member team of doctors from Delhi who led around 15 crucial surgeries on the victims of the Paravur fireworks tragedy. Soon after arriving here with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 10 on the day of the mishap, the panel of doctors fanned out to Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram from where they finally arrived at the Medical College which took most of the critical patients.

The team of doctors coordinated with the MCH staff to perform surgeries on people who were very critical. They continue to evaluate the condition of most serious patients every two-three hours. They held several meetings with revenue officials and city doctors to evaluate the condition of patients.

Around 125 victims were admitted to the Medical College Hospital, of which 65 had to be operated upon. The team of doctors from various hospitals in Delhi included four malayalees.
