Don't give in to political pressure: CM HD Kumaraswamy

He assured that the govt would come up with programmes for all policemen irrespective of their rank based on the Auradkar report in the budget.

Mysuru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had some advice to give the probationary police sub-inspectors passing out of the Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) here on Monday. While advising them not to give in to anypressure from politicians to do anything that was illegal, he also warned them against using political influence for postings.

“Take the posting you are given and maintain the dignity of the profession and the police department,” he told them in his speech after receiving the salute from the 287 probationary police sub- inspectors and one probationary deputy superintendent of police at the passing out parade that marked the culmination of their 11 month training.

Speaking to reporters later, he assured that the government would come up with programmes for all policemen irrespective of their rank based on the Auradkar report in the budget.

Meanwhile, addressing the academy's the latest outgoing batch of trainees, IGP and director of KPA, Vipul Kumar, revealed that of the 287 probationers, 50 were female and 237, male. As many as 220 were from rural areas and 67 from urban.

“Fifty six have done their BE, two each have done M.tech, MBA , BA and LLB, and one each have done ME, BTech, LLB, BHSc and BBS. Three each have done BCA and MSW. In all we had nine army graduates, 97 BA graduates, 18 MA holders, 29 BSc and 28 B.Com holders,” he added.
