Kozhikode: The Onam celebrations of Kozhikode District Tourism Promotion Council being organised in association with Kerala State Tourism Department will be held from September 11 to 15. The decision was taken during a meeting organised at District Panchayt Hall in the presence of Pradeep Kumar, MLA and district collector N. Prasanth. The five major venues for the programme will be beach open ground, Bhatt road beach, Gujarati Hall, Mananchira ground and Tagore Hall.
"In addition to the performances of noted artists from around the state, prominence will be given to the regional artists in diverse sectors," said Mr. Pradeep Kumar. The celebration programme also aims at giving financial aid to various artistes from the district including veterans, he added. Onam celebration programmes will also be hosted at the interior parts of the district. Deputy Mayor Meera Dharshak, District Panchayath Vice President Reena Mundengad, Sub Collector K Gopalakrishnan, ADM Janil Kumar among others.
