Congress stages cycle, cart rallies against fuel price hike

The CLP leader felt at least TRS government could have reduced prices of petrol and diesel in Telangana

Khammam: CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka regretted that neither the central nor state government has been sensitive to continuously increasing gas, petrol and diesel prices, which have put majority of country’s people under a heavy burden.

“It is time both these governments are taught a fitting lesson,” he observed after participating in a cycle and bullock cart rally organised by Congress party in Khammam from Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan to Dharna Chowk. Party workers raised slogans against the two governments and their anti-people policies.

The CLP leader pointed out that hike in rates of petroleum products have led to skyrocketing of prices, particularly essential commodities, including vegetables, household provisions and medicines.

“Even farming has becoming costly, with tractors increasing their rents and fertiliser prices rising,” Vikramarka remarked.

He underlined that NDA government at the centre has increased fuel prices more than a dozen times just in last two months. He regretted that people have been made to suffer even in the difficult times of Coronavirus pandemic.

The CLP leader felt at least TRS government could have reduced prices of petrol and diesel in Telangana. But it has not bothered to do so.

DCC president Puvvalla Durga Prasad, former MLC Potla Nageswara Rao, TPCC spokesperson Maddi Srinivasa Reddy and Kallem Venkat Reddy were among those who took part in the rally.
