Kerala: Man has record 35 lit candles in mouth

Now, he has entered the Guinness World Records holding the most number of lit candles in the mouth.

KOLLAM: G. Sajeesh, a young man from Mukhathala in Kollam, has always been a popular face for the adventure enthusiasts. He has over years stunned them with his breathtaking performances like drilling nostrils and inserting a bundle of knives into his nose to name some. Now, he has entered the Guinness World Records holding the most number of lit candles in the mouth.

The 35-years-old, popular as Sajeesh Mukhathala, broke the record of Mumbai's Dinesh Upadhyaya with 35 candles against his 27. His performance was held at the Police club in Kollam on October 24. “I was very fond of sports during my childhood. This passion gave way to adventures inspired by programmes on English TV channels,” he told DC. “I wanted to do extraordinary pieces of stuff and started doing adventure since the age of 24. I am also a self-taught sculptor.”

His adventures include probing knives and nails into the nose, drilling the nostrils using a drilling machine, writing different languages at a time using two hands and one leg, and many more. Sajeesh entered Limca Book of Records for being the fastest runner climbing the Sabarimala hill during a marathon from Kollam to the pilgrim site. He has 17 odd records in his kitty, and he’s now chasing his dream of achieving five world records at the same time this year, with performances using straw, writing techniques, and mental skills. He has also appeared on several adventure TV shows in Hindi and Malayalam.
