Chennai-based realtor dies in road accident in Bengaluru

The four friends had decided to take the NICE Road from Tumkuru proceeding towards Electronic City Hosur Road towards Chennai, the police said.

Bengaluru: A 27-year-old Chennai-based realtor was killed while three of his friends suffered injuries after their car crashed onto a guardrail on NICE road near Kengeri on Monday morning. The deceased, Parthiban, and his three other friends, Santhosh, 24, Gautham, 27, and Ashok, 36, were returning from Goa to Chennai via Bengaluru after Dussera holidays, the police said.

According to the police, the accident happened at around 6.20 am on a bridge on the NICE Road when Santhosh, the driver, lost control of his SUV (registration number TN-09-VX 7525), and the vehicle rammed on to the guardrails.

The four friends had decided to take the NICE Road from Tumkuru proceeding towards Electronic City Hosur Road towards Chennai, the police said. The police suspect driver Santhosh could have slept at the wheel causing the accident.

Though the airbags were working, Parthiban, who was sitting in the front alongside the driver, sustained grievous injuries on his chest, the police said.

Passersby rushed Parthiban to the nearby BGS Hospital in Kengeri, where he was declared brought dead.

Santhosh and Gautham were brothers and Ashok and Parthiban were their friends. While Santhosh is into automobile business, his brother Gautham was a software engineer.

Parthiban and Ashok were into real estate businesses in Chennai, the police said. A case of accidental death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Kengeri traffic police station and the cops are investigating further.
