His body was found by a local resident, who had come calling on Monday morning in connection with a ward-related issue.

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP councillor of Pappanamcode, K. Chandran, 49, was found dead in his home at Kaimanam on Monday morning. It is suspected that he was electrocuted while ironing clothes. Chandran, a bachelor, who lived with his mother, was alone in the house at the time of the accident.

Death must have happened between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.,” said Karamana SI Syam. Chandran, who usually irons clothes on a table, had chosen to squat on the ground on Monday, according to his relative.
