Bengaluru: Speeding car injures 2 women

The accused cab driver has been identified as Chandan, 21, a resident of Saraswathi Nagar in Mahadevapura, and was arrested by the police.

Bengaluru: Two women pedestrians were severely injured after a speeding cab rammed into them while they were walking in front of their house in Mahadevapura in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits.

The accused cab driver has been identified as Chandan, 21, a resident of Saraswathi Nagar in Mahadevapura, and was arrested by the police.

The injured have been identified as Latha Pande and Sheela, both currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday evening at around 7:30 pm, while the two women were walking in front of their house in Saraswathi Nagar. Chandan, who was speeding, knocked them down.

The passersby immediately rushed them to the nearby hospital where Sheela who had sustained severe leg injury, had to undergo a surgery and both the victims are said to be out of danger.

The police said that the accused and victims were neighbours and lived on the same street.

The K.R. Puram traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and seized the car.
