Approach Supreme Court with concrete proof: V M Sudheeran

The government should employ senior lawyers having the same competence in dealing with criminal cases.

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran on Friday urged the Government to engage the services of senior lawyers who are highly competent to handle criminal cases, and approach the Supreme Court again in Soumya murder case with concrete evidence. Sudheeran, who was inaugurating the KPCC Vichar Vibhag executive meeting, said government pleader A. Suresan had fought the case successfully in the lower court. The government should employ senior lawyers having the same competence in dealing with criminal cases.

“If Govindachami does not get maximum punishment for the heinous crime because of the inept handling of case by government prosecutors then it would be the failure of rule of law and jurisprudence,” he said. The KPCC president slammed the Onam celebrations of SFI which had disrupted traffic and normal life for two hours on the MG Road. “It would be interesting to know what the chief minister who had imposed strong curbs on the Onam celebrations of government staff, has to say on the SFI activists going berserk in the name of celebrations which happened just a stone’s throw away from his office in secretariat,” Sudheeran said.
