Chennai: A Tamil television serial actress, who was accused of duping her second husband, extorting huge sum and stealing valuables from him, appeared before an Egmore court on Tuesday.

When a complaint by R. Srinivasan of Anna Nagar came up before XIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, S. Gopinathan, actress Subashri, 33, appeared and assured the court to cooperate with the proceedings.
According to S. Manikantan, counsel for petitioner, Subashri, acted in mega serials.

She was married to a software firm manager, Saravanan of Mannargudi.
They had a child. After snapping ties with him, she developed relations with Srinivasan. Concealing her previous marriage, she lived in Srinvasan’s house at Anna Nagar for five months. During the period, she harassed and extorted huge sums from him.

Subashri, accompanied by her father and brother, stole laptop, cellphone and other gadgets worth Rs 15 lakh from the house. However, she filed a false case against Srinivasan. He filed a complaint against her and family members before XIII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore.

Neither Subashri nor her family members appeared before the court during the past four hearings. When the matter came up for hearing, the magistrate issued summons to her and family members and directed them to appear before the court today. Accordingly, she appeared.
