Strike by Indian Oil Corporation dealers at Irumpanam off

The dealers and transporters launched the indefinite strike demanding that the new tender floated by the company should be cancelled

Kochi: The strike by transporters and dealers at the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) unit at Irumpanam here was called off on Saturday following talks of Ernakulam district collector M. G. Rajamanickam with stakeholders on the orders of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The supply of diesel, petrol and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) from the unit was affected since Wednesday noon following the strike with all IOC pumps across the state remaining closed on Saturday.

The dealers and transporters launched the indefinite strike demanding that the new tender floated by the company should be cancelled, and another tender should be floated by revising conditions. The IOC management took the stand that this was not possible, following which around 420 transporters and dealers decided to strike.
