Good inflow into dams in Cauvery basin

The water levels at the reservoirs are much lower compared to levels on the same day the previous year.

Mysuru: With heavy rains lashing Kodagu and Wyanad in Kerala, the inflow into reservoirs in the Cauvery catchment area including KRS, Kabini, Harangi and Hemavathi dams has increased drastically and subsequently, the water levels have gone up. However the water levels at the reservoirs are much lower compared to levels on the same day the previous year.

On Tuesday Kodagu recorded 38.83mm rain. So far from January, Kodagu has recorded 818.48 mm rain. The water level at KRS on Tuesday stood at 87.30 feet as against its capacity of 124.80 feet, the inflow was 8,662 cusecs and the outflow was 2543 cusecs. On June 12, the water level stood at 76 feet.

At Hemavathi, the water level on Tuesday stood at 2,882 feet as against its capacity of 2,922 feet. While the inflow was 10,110 cusecs, outflow was 125 cusecs. On June 12, the water level stood at 2862.95 feet.

At Kabini, the water level on Tuesday stood at 2263.32 feet as against its capacity of 2,284 feet. At Harangi, the water level on Tuesday was 2,847 feet, as against its capacity of 2,859 feet.
