Krishnagiri: Teacher lands in prison for misbehaving with girl

KRISHNAGIRI: A private tuition teacher was arrested for misbehaving with a minor girl staying in an orphanage at Nallur, near Hosur in Krishnagiri district.

The girl studying in class ten in a government school at Nallur stays in an orphanage run by the NGO. The victim on Wednesday night told her caretaker of the indecent behaviour of her tuition teacher leading to a police complaint against him.

According to petitioner, the 33-year-old newly married teacher had asked other students to leave, but told the victim to stay in the room under the pretext of taking special class for her.

Later, the accused tried to misbehave with the girl. The panicked victim escaped from him and joined with other orphanage inmates spending time at the place.

The orphanage caretaker, following the incident gave a police complaint at Hosur All women police station. Police questioned the teacher and found the charge against him was true. He was arrested and remanded to custody in Salem jail.

This is the second incident reported within two weeks in Hosur taluk in Krishnagiri district. Earlier, the police arrested the correspondent of a private school on similar charges.

The case against him was that the accused person had misbehaved with his girl student when the victim was alone in a class room. He went into hiding following a police case registered against him.

The police mounted a search to trace him. Meanwhile, the accused surrendered at the police station leading to his arrest and he was also remanded in judicial custody.
