VIJAYAWADA: Alumni of Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) Law College organised a get-together at the Deichmann Auditorium on the premises of the university campus in Nagarjuna nagar near Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Sunday.
Former ANU vice chancellor Prof. Haragopal Reddy lit the lamp and gave the keynote address. He underlined that law students must always make it a point to serve needy people, society and the country. He pointed out that one of the illustrious persons to pass out from the ANU Law College is N.V. Ramana, who served as Chief Justice of India in an exemplary manner.
Former vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Y. Haragopal Reddy, professors N. Rangaiah, A. Subrahmanyam, K.M.H. Rayappa, L. Jaya Sri and Bhaskara Rao, Andhra Pradesh High Court judges G. Ramakrishna Prasad and V.R.K. Krupasagar, Andhra Pradesh High Court public prosecutor Y. Nagi Reddy, AP Human Rights Commission member Dr Srinivasa Rao, and former students participated in the alumni meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Andhra Pradesh FiberNet Corporation chairman P. Gowtham Reddy, Damodaram Sanjeevaiah National Law College, Visakhapatnam, vice chancellor Surya Prakash and Bezawada Bar Association president Ch. Vishnu Vardhan urged university officials to start a five-year law course.
