Mr Muraleedharan warned them of dire consequences if they went ahead with their plans.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MLA K. Muraleedharan's warning worked well, forcing the Law Academy to defer its decision to begin classes on Monday. After Saturday's talks between education minister C. Raveendranath and protesting students had failed, the college management announced that the classes would resume on Monday. On Sunday, Congress Mr Muraleedharan warned them of dire consequences if they went ahead with their plans. "The protest venue should not be converted into a riot scene by the LDF Government. SFI is known for its betrayal when it comes to agitations," he said.

He also urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to refer the books at the AKG Centre library to know who is P. S. Nataraja Pillai was. By Sunday evening, the Academy management decided to keep the college shut until the students end their protests. Earlier, Mr Muraleedharan had warned the management and SFI that he would confront them if they go ahead with their plans. He reiterated that he would continue his fast until the protesting students call off their strike demanding the ouster of its principal Lekshmi Nair.
