Kerala Law Academy row: BJP wants affiliation annulled

The Governor also forwarded it to the vice-chancellor of the University of Kerala, Dr P. K. Radhakrishnan.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor P. Sathasivam on Saturday forwarded a BJP petition seeking disaffiliation of Law Academy to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for "immediate" and "appropriate" action. The Governor, who is the chancellor of universities in the state, also forwarded it to the vice-chancellor of the University of Kerala, Dr P. K. Radhakrishnan.

A BJP delegation led by its state president Kummanam Rajasekharan and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel called on the Governor with the petition claiming it was functioning against the interests of students disregarding "civil and criminal laws". Listing out a slew of charges like nepotism, bad governance, misuse of power, illegal constructions, black money hoarding, they demanded the syndicate committee to recommend cancellation of its recognition.
