Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday requested the Malaysian government to introduce direct flight connectivity from Gannavaram airport to Kuala Lumpur that improves relations and business between AP and Malaysia.
Participating in an interactive session with industrialists of Malaysia, he requested them to join capital construction and other development works. He said that the government would construct the Amaravati capital city as one among the top 10 world’s best capitals. The names of those who give best ideas would be displayed in the Amaravati capital.
He also said that the government collected 33,000 acres of lands for Amaravati capital city from landowners under Land Pooling Scheme as an innovative idea. It isthe biggest achievement, he said and added that landowners have given land for capital city believing in his leadership.
He requested the industrialist to take part in Amaravati capital city works. The capital city location has river front advantage with sufficient water resources, transport connectivity and is centrally located. He asked the Malaysian government to construct another Malaysian city in the model of Hyderabad. He said that Amaravati capital city and Putrajaya cities have similarities.
The CM said that the state has biggest advantages, including longest seacoast and abundant opportunities in food processing and agri-based industries. The state has huge volume of minerals. He recalled that Malaysian companies took part in infrastructure works and road projects in the undivided AP and Cyberabad city was established during his leadership with support of various countries.
Now the state government planned to develop the state as in the same model.
The government would reach 15 per cent growth rate and already registered 10.99 per cent, which is higher than the country’s average. He said that Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor and various industries would boost the state development in near future.
Malaysian industries minister Mustafa Mohammed said that they are very keen to invest and take part in various development works with their expertise fields. He said that AP’s investment policies and leadership is very attractive for industrialists.
AP Finance Development Board J. Krishna Kishore said that the government would open an office at Kula Lumpur for business operations. AP energy department secretary Ajay Jain said that $2.5 million investment is ready from various financial agencies. He said that the government would call for tenders for Bhogapuram airport in May last week or June first week.
