Kerala: Salary, pension distribution hit

As against the state's request for Rs 140.57 crore, the RBI provided just Rs 99.83 crore to treasuries.

Kochi: The salary and pension disbursal of the state government was hit for the second successive day on Friday as there was no end to the currency crunch with the Reserve Bank of India failing to supply the money sought by the government. As against the state’s request for Rs 140.57 crore, the RBI provided just Rs 99.83 crore to treasuries. This is Rs 10 crore less than what was provided on Thursday. The worst hit were the northern districts of Kozhikode and Malappuram. Kottayam too was not provided with sufficient funds.
