KOZHIKODE: Farook College lifted the Calicut University Interzone Arts Fest trophy for the second consecutive time with 189 points. The results of the last two events proved to be a turning point in their victory. St Joseph’s college Devagiri got second place with 167 points and Government Victoria College, Palakkad got third position with 81 points.
Although programmes continued late into the night, it did not affect the enthusiasm of the final day of the fest. Participants waited eagerly for the programme results as the contest for the trophy reached a photo finish between Devagiri College and Farook College. When St Joseph’s College, Devagiri won the first place in oppana, all eyes were on the result of the last programme - Orchestra. Big applause went up when the announcement came that Farook got first place in Orchestra.
“We have put in great efforts in the Interzone arts fest. The teachers and staff of our college were very supportive and we have managed to participate in 19 group items and 43 individual items. It requires hard work and it paid off”, said Shakeer M, University Union councillor of Farook College. Pro- Vice Chancellor Dr P Mohan distributed the trophy and awards to the winners.
