K Chandrasekhar Rao picks aide from OU for SC, ST panel

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday approved the setting up of the State SC and ST Commission, a quasi-judicial body to look into all aspects related to SCs and STs especially on issues concerning atrocities.

Mr Errolla Srinivas, an Osmania student leader during the statehood agitation and a confidant of the Chief Minister, was appointed chairman of the commission.

 

The constitution of the commission had been pending for three-and-a-half years since the formation of Telangana state in 2014.

Mr Srinivas hails from Ganapur of China Koduru mandal of Siddipet district.
Mr B. Vidyasagar (Suryapet district), Mr M. Rambal Naik and Mr Ch. Narasimha (both from Ranga Reddy), Mr K. Neela Devi (Adilabad), Mr S. Devaiah (Hyderabad) were appointed members. Their term in office will be three years from the date of assumption.
