Demands of students are legitimate, says V M Sudheeran

He said that the university was yet to recognise the principal's appointment as proper.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran has shot off a letter to education minister C. Raveendranath on Law Academy issue supporting demands of students on strike which he described as legitimate. He said the syndicate subcommittee of the University of Kerala had found them genuine. Mr Sudheeran alleged that the CPM leaders who are in the syndicate have rallied behind the principal without examining the specific documents under political pressure.

He said that the university was yet to recognise the principal’s appointment as proper. “Hence the university has every right to remove her as her appointment is yet to be recognised. So the pro-chancellor (the minister) could instruct the university officials to sack her,” Mr Sudheeran said in his letter to the minister.
