Hyderabad: The Indian School of Business, with campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, has improved its position in the Financial Times (London) Global MBA Rankings-2017 to 27, from 29 last year. The other top institutes from the country to get a place in the list are IIM-Bangalore (49th position) and IIM-Kolkata (95).

This ranking features the world’s best 100 full-time MBA programmes. A total of 156 schools took part in the 2017 edition of this ranking. The ranking uses data collected from schools and the 9,000 alumni who completed full-time MBA at them in 2013 — a response rate of 41 per cent.

The ranking has 20 different criteria. Alumni responses constitute eight criteria that together contribute 59 per cent of its weight. Eleven criteria are calculated from school data, accounting for 31 per cent of the final ranking. The remaining criterion, the research rank, counts for 10 per cent.

INSEAD, with campuses in France and Singapore, was the world’s best business school for the second straight year. Stanford Graduate School of Business in California was placed second followed by Wharton School.
