VIJAYAWADA: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has stated that one of the important sectors to be discussed and debated upon in the Janmabhoomi programme scheduled from January 2, would be the health sector. The agricultural sector would also occupy prime attention. Speaking to the media on Friday at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said that AP is ahead of all other states, by engaging one and half lakh acres of agriculture land for organic forming. He said an “Agri Watch” agency would be formed to prevent the usage of chemicals in agricultural sector.
Speaking on the Triple Talaq issue, the CM said that 72 per cent of the Muslims have welcomed the scrapping of Triple Talaq. Mr Naidu said that the air quality data of all the regions in the state would be made available online. He said priority would be given to maintain best eco system to prevent pollution of air. He said air quality data would be collected from industrial zones, vehicle plying areas and dust prevalence areas. The Chief Minister said that in the absence of industrial pollution and more green cover Rayalaseema region had better air quality than many other regions.
All these issues and more will be discussed at the Janmabhoomi programme scheduled from January 2 to January 11. The Chief Minister further said that peoples' participation would be essential in the Janmabhoomi programme and added that it would be the responsibility of everyone to discuss and debate on development of the State in the improvised version of the Fifth Janmabhoomi programme.
The CM said that non-financial issues would be settled immediately and the financial issues would be resolved as per priority in the Janmabhoomi programme. The Chief Minister also said that a debate and discussion would be held on various issues during the 10 day programme. On the first day on January 2, the focus would be on welfare schemes, on January 3, the focus would be health profile, on January 4, Swachandra Pradesh, on January 5, education sector would be focussed upon, on January 6, village infrastructure, on January 7, the focus would be on natural resources, water budget, irrigation, green cover status and solar energy, on January 8, agriculture and allied sectors would hold centrestage. On January 9 the focus would be good governance through technology, on January 10, Vision 2022, 2029 and 2050 and action plan for inclusive growth to ensure earning of Rs 10,000 per month for each house and on the concluding day on January 11, the focus would be on happiness and cultural programmes.
The Chief Minister said essay writing competitions and cultural programmes would be organised as part of Ananda Lahari and prizes will be distributed to the winners on January 11. He said gram sabhas will be organised in every village at 2.30 p.m daily. One team would be formed in each village with the VRO as convener to supervise the JB programme.
CM: Family bond vital for society
The Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, had some interesting sidelights to share with the media about his recent trip to South Korea. In a conversation with the media, on Friday during a press conference, at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said that he was told that more than 40 per cent women in South Korea are unmarried and wanted to live independently. Though living as per their wish was their personal matter, the Chief Minister said that he was told the women were also encouraging others to lead an unmarried life, which was astonishing.
Professional development and independent earnings were leading to such alienated living habits, the Chief Minister observed and added, “I am happy that in our country and especially in few districts in the state, there exists the joint family system. It is appreciable that the family traditions still exist in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.”
Expressing his deep concern over the declining trends in the family bondage and relations, the CM said that this Janmabhoomi programme would also aim at suggesting NRIs and NRTs to visit their villages during this Janmabhhomi and spend Sankranti holidays, with their elders in the villages. “This Janmabhoomi will also advocate the need for family bondage and we will do so via various programmes,” the Mr Naidu said.
While the CM was pointedly asked whether this Janmabhoomi would address the concerns of the villages that had contributed their lands for various projects like GENCO and others but were not recognised, the CM stated that there wouldn’t be any further GENCOs. “The coming days are filled with solar energy,” the Chief Minister said and evaded a direct answer.
