Let Stalin talk to Karnataka CM, says BJP

On Wednesday, the BJP leader termed the DMK's meeting as nothing but an \"eyewash was being conducted for its political gains” and “a political drama.”

Chennai: The BJP lashed out at the DMK for conducting a meeting on Mekedatu in the city on Thursday and dared DMK president M. K. Stalin and TNCC chief Su. Thirunavukkarasar to hold a meeting with the Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy instead and pressure him to drop the project.

“Why hold a meeting of friendly parties in Chennai, why not Stalin and Thirunavukkarasar go to Bengaluru and ask their allies in Karnataka to drop the Mekedatu project?” BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan asked on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters here that if Mr. Stalin was really concerned about Mekedatu project affecting Tamil Nadu, he should talk to Mr. Kumaraswamy instead of holding meeting in Chennai.

At the meeting to discuss the Mekedatu project, at Anna Arivalayam - DMK state headquarters here, the parties resolved to stage an agitation in Tiruchy on Dec.4 condemning the Centre for giving its nod to Karnataka to prepare the Detailed Project Report for the dam.
