TRS ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs and local leaders have been asked to mobilise 25 lakh people for the meeting.

Hyderabad: The massive public meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party that is due to be held on September 2 on the outskirts of the city has brought in additional revenue for the TSRTC.

Over 7,000 RTC buses have been booked by TRS leaders to mobilize people from all districts for the meeting. TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has fixed a target to mobilize around 25 lakh people for the meeting. He has asked party leaders to mobilise at least one lakh people from each district.

Following the CM’s instructions, ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs and local leaders are all trying to book RTC buses to help the people attend the public meeting.

The RTC may earn over '9 crore from this meeting which is more than what it earned during the Medaram Jatara. It holds the record of arranging the highest number of 5,000 special buses for the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. The TRS meeting has surpassed the earlier record as 7,000 buses are being roped into service on September 2. With no more RTC buses available in the state, TRS leaders are hiring buses from AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Besides, the buses of private schools, colleges, professional colleges, private travel agencies have also been booked.

TRS MLC and government whip in the Legislative Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said nearly 70 per cent of the total transport vehicles in the state would be heading to Hyderabad on September 2.

He said parking facility has been provided for more than a lakh vehicles in four different locations around the public meeting venue in Kongara Kalan. He added that arrangements had been made to ensure that no traffic chaos takes place with the arrival of such a huge number of vehicles from all the districts.

There is no train facility to the venue. With this, the only option available for TRS leaders is road transport.
