Chennai students ace class 10 CBSE exam

Highest number of students score above 90%.

Chennai: After reverting back to board exams, the students from Chennai region aces the class 10 exams as the region got the highest number of students scoring over 90% of marks in the exams.

Of 1,93,833 students appeared for the class 10 board exams, 26,670 students got scores of 90% and above. It was followed by Panchkula and Ajmer regions.

Chennai region also has the highest number of students securing over 95% marks in the class 10 board exams as 5737 students got scores above 475 marks. The schools from Chennai also got excellent results this year.

SBOA School and Junior College in Anna Nagar had sent highest number of students to class 10 board exams this year.

“Of 778 students, all of them cleared the exams. Nearly 70% students passed with distinction and got 35 centums,” said Radhika Unni, principal, SBOA School and Junior College.

“From the beginning, we have informed parents about the change and employed a different type of teaching. We were also checked every two months whether the students coped with the syllabus by conducting tests,” she added.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Chetpet produced 100% results this year. The school also had 20 centums including 15 in Maths alone.

The school has also prepared the students with many tests.

“The question papers also scoring friendly and the evaluation were also lenient as it is the first board exam after a gap,” another principal said.

“When seeing the class 10 results, there is no big difference between last year and this year results,” said Malathi Nagarajan, Vice-Principal, Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram. All the 252 students cleared and got good marks.

In DAV Girls Senior Secondary School in Gopalapuram, all the 204 students appeared in the exams passed and the school has got 18 centum including 9 in maths this year.

K. Mohana, principal, Modern Senior Secondary School said the school had very good results and all the 165 students cleared the exams. The school also got 8 centum in Maths this year.
