Yettinahole project: Activists in coast on warpath

Activists have asked the people to give a strong reply to these elected representatives in the forthcoming assembly election.

Unhappy over the attitude of MLAs and ministers of Dakshina Kannada district during the meeting chaired by Chief Minister to discuss Yettinahole project, activists have asked the people to give a strong reply to these elected representatives in the forthcoming assembly election.

"We had great expectations from this meeting. But we were shocked to see the behaviour of our elected representatives mainly Minister Ramanath Rai. We never expected such rude behaviour from him," Netravathi Samrakshana Samyuktha Samithi president Vijay Kumar Shetty told reporters.

"It is unfortunate that instead of placing our problem before the Chief Minister, he (Rai) not only addressed me in the singular but also complained to the Chief Minister that I spoke only against Siddaramaiah and not against DVS," he said.

He also warned Rai not to test his temper failing which he would release a list of charges against Rai. "I do not want to speak much about it now," he said.

"The incident during the meeting was a humiliation to the people of Dakshina Kannada. People should decide if these MLAs and Ministers were right or wrong, in the forthcoming election," he said.

Mr Harikrishna Bantwal said that Ministers Ramanath Rai, U.T. Khader, Congress MLA Abhayachandra Jain and MLC Ivan D'Souza did not speak in support of the people of Dakshina Kannada during the meeting.
