Hyderabad: The prisons in Telangana state are “quite different” from those elsewhere in the world. “They are clean and orderly, and the evil of corruption is well under control,” said a US military researcher and professor on a study of prison conditions in different countries.
Brian Norris, assistant professor with the Military College in South Carolina, has been studying prison administration in Mexico, India and Honduras, besides the US since 2012.
As part of this, he has visited several Indian prisons and been to Hyderabad twice. Mr Norris found the Telangana prisons had a clean and orderly atmosphere.
