Kid thrashed for picking savoury

An 11-year-old boy, who took a Kurkure packet from a shop without the knowledge of the shopkeeper was allegedly beaten up.

Hyderabad: An 11-year-old boy, who took a Kurkure packet from a shop without the knowledge of the shopkeeper was allegedly beaten up in Anantapur district on Saturday. A case was registered against the shop owner. Police said boy, a Class 4 student from Agra in UP, had come to visit his grandmother at Tadipatri. On Saturday, his grandmother who works as a daily wage earner, went to work and he was alone at home.

When he felt hungry, he went to a nearby shop owned by K Venkatramudu to buy snacks. “When he could not find the shopkeeper, he took a Kurkure packet and started eating. The shopkeeper who came out noticed the child and caught him. He tied him to a pole and started beating him,” Tadipatri sub inspector P.Y. Anjaneyulu said.
