Unfulfilled TRS promises in Congress manifesto

TPCC in its manifesto said a White Paper would be issued on the loans taken by the TRS government since 2014.

Hyderabad: The TPCC on Tuesday released its election manifesto with 36 assurances on the unimplemented TRS promises. AICC general secretary and Telangana Congress affairs in-charge R.C. Khuntia, TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC election manifesto committee Convenor Dasoju Sravan Kumar on Tuesday released the manifesto.

Most of the assurances are promised by the People’s front in its common minimum programme. The TPCC ass-ured that it would reorganise districts “which was done in a meaningless manner”. the TPCC said that it would be reviewed, and if requir-ed, the number of districts would be reduced to cut down the burden on the public exchequer. In the manifesto, the TPCC mentioned all sectors like industries, irrigation, tourism and education and others but the key sector of power was missing.

TPCC in its manifesto said a White Paper would be issued on the loans taken by the TRS government since 2014. People would be enlightened on how the revenue-surplus Telangana was turned into a debt-ridden State. Another white Paper on economic status would be issued after the end of the tenure of their government, it said.

Caretaker Chief Minis-ter K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the past announced that the song Jaye Jaye Ho Telangana written by poet Andesri would be made the official song of TS. The TPCC assured that their government would carry out this promise. The official abbreviation of Telangana would be changed from “TS” to “TG” and the logo of the Telangana government would be redesigned to reflect the democratic sprit and sacrifices made by martyrs.

The name of the present Rythu Bandhu scheme would be changed to “Rythulu, Kaulu Rythulu and Rythu Coolie Pathakam” (Farmers, tenant farmers and farm workers scheme) and the investment subsidy would be enhanced from '4,000 to '5,000 per acre.
