After SC stays his bail, Rocky Yadav untraceable; cops conduct raids

A manhunt has been launched and raids are being conducted at various places in order to put him back to jail.

Gaya (Bihar): With the Supreme Court staying his bail, Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky Yadav, who allegedly shot dead a Class XII student for overtaking his SUV, police today could not trace him.

A manhunt has been launched and raids are being conducted at various places in order to put him back to jail, Senior Superintendent of Police Garima Malik told PTI.

"As soon as the Supreme Court judgement reached us the police raided Rocky Yadav's house in A P Colony, but did not find him there," the SP said.

The police has filed an application in the court of Additional District Judge SP Mishra seeking non-bailable arrest warrant against Yadav to send him back to jail in accordance with the apex court judgement.

Rocky Yadav's lawyer also filed an affidavit in the court of the ADJ during the day stating that he was out of Gaya and would come before the court tomorrow.

Rocky Yadav's mother and suspended JD(U) MLC Manorma Devi and her husband Bindi Yadav said the family respects the judiciary and their son would appear before the ADJ court tomorrow.

The apex court today stayed the bail granted by the Patna High Court on October 19 to Rocky Yadav in connection with the death of Aditya Sachdeva in the road rage incident- and thus making clear he will have to go back to jail.

Rocky is accused of shooting and killing Aditya Sachdeva, a Class XII student who was driving his Maruti car, for overtaking his SUV on May 7 this year near Gaya.

The incident had triggered outrage across the country. The Nitish Kumar government filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Patna High Court's granting bail to Rocky Yadav.
