Hyderabad: The IT industry has to increase its focus on innovation and developing new technologies apart from skilling the youth to provide gainful employment, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu said on Friday. He was speaking at the 26th annual summit of the Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (Hysea), ‘Celebrating Design, Innovation and Start-ups’ on Friday. The event saw the participation from more than 150 start-ups, 1,000 delegates and 130 exhibiting stalls.

“Hyderabad’s IT growth is in line with the state government’s vision to reach Rs 1.2 lakh crore exports by 2020. IT has bought beauty to Hyderabad,” he said. As Friday was also Guru Purnima, Mr Naidu said, “Google is useful but it can never replace the guru. The guru is paramount.”

CYIENT chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy was conferred the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the growth of IT.
