Chandrababu Naidu to give priority to Muslims in the Cabinet

CM laid the foundation for Musafar Khana at Wynchpet in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said priority would be given to Muslims and assured representation for Muslim community in the Cabinet or in the nominated posts. He appealed to Muslims to utilise the government welfare programmes. The Chief Minister laid foundation for Musafar Khana (Shadi khana) to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10.50 crore at Wynchpet in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

Addressing a meeting presided over by Vijayawada West MLA Jaleel khan, the Chief Minister said that Rs 710 crore has been allotted for the welfare of Muslims in the Budget. He said Urdu university had started at Kurnool and it would function from this academic year. Describing former President Abdul Kalam as a great personality, the CM said people should follow the ideals of Kalam. He has reiterated that four per cent reservation to Muslims would be implemented.

He said the state government would work for the welfare of Muslims under social empowerment mission. The Chief Minister underscored the need for protecting Wakf properties. He said Dargahs would be developed. Mr Naidu also said that Haj House would be constructed at Vijayawada and direct flight services would be introduced from Vijayawda to Jeddah. He said that the state government has made Urdu as the state’s second language.
