Officials want to give Hyderabad a feel of Metro Rail travel

If services are started on the Miyapur-SR Nagar and the Nagole-Mettuguda stretches, the company would benefit.

Hyderabad: Metro Rail officials are pushing to start services on the Miyapur-SR Nagar stretch because it is expected to be commercially viable, unlike the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch.

According to sources in L&T, the 8-km Nagole-Mettuguda stretch is not commercially viable as people will avoid it because it ends abruptly at Mettuguda.

If services are started on the Miyapur-SR Nagar and the Nagole-Mettuguda stretches, the company would benefit.

“Starting the routes on different stretches will give the people a feel of the Metro. It’s a mode of transport which they have to get used to due to its speed, automatic closing of the doors and understanding the facilities. This is one of the reasons why services were started early,” an officer said.
