Bengaluru: Serial rapist and killer Mohan Kumar, popularly known as 'Cynaide Mohan', was on Wednesday convicted in two rape and murder cases by two courts in Dakshina Kannada and Kodugu districts.
Mohan now stands convicted in nine cases, including one for which he received the death sentence. He was involved in over 20 cases of rape and murder across the state between 2004 and 2009.
Mohan (56), who has over 10 aliases, would befriend and charm unmarried woman. He would then ask them to bring all the jewellery with them to get married. After they comply he would rape them and offer a cynaide capsule saying it is a contraceptive pill.
Mohan is currently lodged at the Hindalga Jail in Belagavi. Still several cases against him are in the trial process.
