Kozhikode: Kuwaiti national alleges fraud of Rs 1.15 crore

Moajab Majed Salem Al Dosari said that he was asked to present more documents by the police.

KOZHIKODE: A Kuwaiti national has complained that a man who worked under his sponsorship for around 35 years has cheated him of nearly Rs 1.15 crore along with his two other Malayali friends for starting a furniture showroom in Kozhikode and later, to do real estate business. Moajab Majed Salem Al Dosari said that he was asked to present more documents by the police.

Meanwhile, the ‘friends’ have complained at Payyoli police station that some people, as per the directions of Mr Al Dosari, tried to cause damage to their houses. Police, while investigating the second allegation, told this newspaper that Mr Al Dosari is yet to file a petition. Mr Al Dosari said that the dealings in Kozhikode started way back in 2014 and initially he gave Rs 75 lakh. Later, Rs 1.5 crore was given for real estate business.

However, the friends sought more money, and Mr Al Dosari decided to end the real estate deals. Hereafter, some amount was returned during a conciliation talk held in Qatar and it was decided to return his Rs 1.15 crore later. The Kuwaiti national says that he was cheated, after gaining his trust for many long years and now that the police are also trying to settle the matter outside. The language is also a barrier for Mr Al Dosari and he is planning to sue the three Malayalis, after collecting original documents from Kuwait next week.
