Sushma Swaraj takes note of Deccan Chronicle report

Earlier, MBT leader Amjadullah Khan had tweeted a fascimile of the report to the minister.

Hyderabad: Union minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj has said the Centre is going to start an awareness campaign on passengers carrying parcels whose contents are not known to them.

Responding to the report, ‘Old city youth jailed in Dubai for carrying UAE banned medicines’, carried in these columns on Friday, Ms Swaraj tweeted: “Never carry a packet like that. This may be a banned drug. You will be arrested at the airport.”

Earlier, MBT leader Amjadullah Khan had tweeted a fascimile of the report to the minister. Mr Habeeb Mohammed a resident of Chandrayangutta, was carrying a packet to Dubai which was given to him by his neighbour and was arrested on arrival for carrying drugs. His brother Abdul Qadeer said he was innocent.
