Need for quality education stressed: Supreme Court judge Justice J Chalameswar

Awards were also presented to headmasters of government schools.

Guntur: Supreme Court judge Justice J. Chalameswar asked the teachers to impart quality education to the students which would be useful to them in their lives and asserted the need to promote government educational institutions.

Mr Chalameswar presented the Ramineni Foundation talent awards to students of the Zilla Parishad and government schools, who scored top marks in the SSC exams in the district and mandal level in Guntur district, during a programme held at Siddhartha Gardens in Guntur on Tuesday.

He praised the efforts of Ramineni Foundation for the promotion of education in government educational institutions.

“There is no use of people who earn a lot of money but not give back a single penny to the society,” he said. He sought the public to come forward for the good cause of promotion of education in government educational institutions.

Minister of human resources G. Srinivasa Rao said that the state AP government was spending Rs 23,200 crore on the education sector, of which, Rs 5,000 crore would be spent on the development of basic amenities in government schools to turn AP into a knowledge and educational hub.

He asked the students to study with a burning desire to achieve knowledge and asked the teachers to make the students into future scientists, doctors, engineers, educators, researchers, industrialists and professionals who would serve the people and the country.

Minister for power Kala Venkata Rao lauded the efforts of Ramineni family, who live in foreign countries, for trying to encourage meritorious students of government schools with awards. The Foundation also strives to protect our heritage and culture, he said.

Minister for social welfare N. Ananda Babu said these days, the government educational institutions are also providing quality education on par with corporate schools and urged the public to join their wards in the state educational institutions. Awards were also presented to headmasters of government schools.
