Quora user Pushpak Chakraborty, said that Modi had personally called an IAS officer in Tripura to get the funds sanctioned for repair work.

Mumbai: A quora user’s story of how Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally intervened to set straight the rain ravaged NH 208(A) connecting Tripura with the rest of the country, has gone viral.

Narrating the story, Quora user from Manipal University, Pushpak Chakraborty, said that the Prime Minister had personally called an IAS officer in the state to get the funds sanctioned for the essential repair work.

“An IAS officer who is well known to my father and is posted in North Tripura got a call at 10pm on 21st July. He was surprised to get a call so late in the night.A young voice from the other side apologised for calling so late and asked if he is free for a few minutes because the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi wants to talk to him,” he wrote.

When connected, Modi apparently apologised again for causing the inconvenience and requested the officer to lend his help in fixing the national highway.

“He says he doesn’t even remember how he responded to it. All he remembers is Modi telling him that the GOI has spoken to both the Assam and Tripura Government and all help would be provided to him to oversee the project,” read the post.

Next day when he reached office, the officer found communications waiting for him from the Government of India, Government of Assam and Government of Triupra. After clearing the required funds, he rushed to the highway with his staff where he found 6 JCBs waiting, provided by the government of Assam.

“Over the next 4 days, more than 300 trucks with materials kept arriving and along with local workers and PWD officials from Assam and Tripura, he opened the highway for vehicles with necessities for Tripura,” he wrote.

The claim could not be verified independently verified.
