Telangana: NR's brilliant academy coached two Eamcet-2 rankers

Even the marks and ranks of both the candidates in AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET have much variations.

Vijayawada: The TS EAMCET-2 entrance paper leakage has established a different link to Vijayawada city, as two candidates who appeared for the same entrance examination in Telangana, had taken short term coaching at NR’s Brilliant Academy, Penamaluru.

The candidates — Enaganti Sonali and Vangara Jahnavi, both from Warangal district — took 35 days coaching for the medical stream at NR’s Brilliant Academy. Both the students, however, didn’t appear for the final grand tests of the academy.

After TS CID’s investigation suspected the involvement of the candidates who took coaching at this centre, parents from across AP and TS started seeking information.

NR’s Brilliant Academy Director K. Nageswara Rao said that just like other candidates, Sonali and Jahnavi joined coaching for the medical test. “Their parents took them away after July 2,” K. Nageswara Rao said. When asked about their performance he said the faculty monitored the performance. Since their parents came to take their children, we didn’t get any suspicion, he added.

However, a faculty member said that both the candidates were average. DC has secured 13 documents, containing their mark sheets at the academy, Telangana and AP EAMCET entrance mark sheets with rank.

Both the girls Jahnavi and Sonali did not attend the grand test (TS EAMCET) organised by the NR’s Brilliant Academy on July 5 and 6.

Even the marks and ranks of both the candidates in AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET have much variations. Another teacher said that during the coaching they didn’t perform up to the mark.

The TS CID has sought the help of AP CID and SB to find the call data of the candidates who took coaching in Vijayawada and Guntur.

“We ae also questioning the managements of some coaching centres located in Vijayawada and Guntur,” a police officer said.

CID team likely to question 60 eamcet-2 rank holders

The CID team inquiring into the alleged leak of the TS Eamcet-2 question paper is likely to grill 60 rank holders. The CID has prepared a list of the students whom it suspects had benefited from the paper leak.

The probe officials are also collecting details of financial transactions of the students and their families, who is alleged to have paid a huge amount to the brokers for the papers.

The CID has taken two education consultants, who orchestrated the scam, into custody. The police is yet to reveal their identities.

The CID had earlier booked cases under under IPC Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant), 420 (cheating) read with 120b, Section 8 of AP Public Examination (Prevention of Malpr-actice) Act 1987.
