Boys fare well in class 12 CBSE results

Masih Ahmed from DPS (North) scores 97.8%, tops city in science. School mate Rahul Prasad tops in Commerce.

Bengaluru: In a change from the recent trend of girls out-performing them, a larger number of boys have made it to the top in the Class 12 CBSE results announced on Saturday.

The mood in the home of Masih Ahmed, a student of Delhi Public School (DPS) North, turned festive as he had scored 97.8% in the Sciences. For the young student, the news couldn’t have been better as he is awaiting the results of the JEE (Advanced) to chase his dream of pursuing a career in Computer Science engineering. “Computers have always fascinated me. When preparing for the exam I set daily targets and also relaxed, playing basketball, pool and watching TV once I was done studying for the day. I never stressed and I guess being calm helped me a lot,” he said.

Yet another student of DPS North, Rahul Prasad, who scored 97.6% in the Commerce stream, is now one step closer to getting a seat in a premier institute to pursue BBA or B.Com. “Three years down the line, I see myself getting into an Indian Institute of Management. Using skills to persuade someone to buy a product is an art that has always intrigued me,” he revealed. The only son of a customs officer, Ram Prasad and his wife, Ruby Menon, Rahul says that solving the previous year’s question papers and preparing in two months helped him. The youngster also scored a centum in Business Studies. Madhulika Gangaraju of CMR National Public School scored a centum in maths to get 97.2%. A throwball player and an artist, she is looking at two different career options in Architecture and computer science engineering. The daughter of techie Ramakrishna and math expert, Vasundhara, the teenager says her discipline and focus helped her score well in the exams.

While S. Kaavya of Ekya School, ITPL (Science) and Shreyas Ernst Isaac of DPS East (Humanities) scored 97.2% each , Nischal Singhal (Science) of Brigade School, JP Nagar scored 97% to find a place among the toppers.
