Karnataka medical aspirants brace for phase 2 examination of NEET

Entrance test will consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions.

Bengaluru: The CBSE Board on Thursday announced the exam schedule of NEET phase 2, to be held on July 24. According to a notification issued by the CBSE, NEET-II will be three hours long and conducted from 10 am to 1 pm. The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday.

Who can attend?
According to the notification, candidates who could not register in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I, candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I but could not appear and candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I and had appeared, but feel they have not fared well, can attend the examination.

The NEET-II examination would be videographed. The candidates are required to keep their heads in an upright position and face the camera during the videography so that their identity could be clearly established.

Examination pattern
The entrance test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using a ball point pen provided only by CBSE at the centre.
Candidates can opt to answer the question paper either in English or in Hindi. A candidate can apply for the NEET–II online by logging on to www.aipmt.nic.in.

Merit list
The Central Board of Secondary Education will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET - 2016 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India, as given in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 issued under Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 under the Dentists’ Act, 1948.
